I was amazed to read your write up on your time share experience in November 2008. We have just got back from Bali last week and my partner & I got sucked in too. Our trip was identical to your families, even to the point that I thought I was getting kidnapped. I can laugh at it now, but wasn't so funny at the time. They ruined our 'shopping' day in Kuta, then for the next 2 days we become unwell so we never did get to experience Kuta Beach and the bargains! At least we came home with 2 Royal Resort t-shirts that I would rather burn than wear!
Anyway, I thank you for posting what you did as 'google' is an amazing thing. At least we are now wiser for our next trip.
